Hi Oz,
ReplyDeleteI have been in contact with the OLGR regarding the possibility of starting an accord that deals with Liquor and Live Performance in the City of Sydney area. At present all accords within the City of Sydney are suburb/area specific (e.g the Kings Cross Accord, the Surry Hills Accord) however they acknowledge that Live Performance in venues is a contentious issue at the moment, so perhaps there is some leverage to get it off the ground. Particulary considering that they are about to re-write the legislation (with POPE's for venues with 'low impact' music to be abolished)
I have also noticed that it does not appear that anyone disputed the DA conditions put forward by the CoS against the Hoey. Surely there is an avenue there?
In regards to OLGR requirements, sometimes a submission questioning their directives is successful. It has worked for many other hotels where they have had new requirements reviewed and reduced accordingly (specifically security requirements).
Feel free to contact me about this. I have been doing A LOT of research.
